Applications:
The Monster Beats Pro are the most expensive headphones in Monster's line-up and, once you pick them up, the first you'll likely notice is the additional cash buys a lot of extra heft and beefiness in the design when compared to the less expensive Beats by Dre Studio model. Thickly machined metal headband structure ensure no cracking, squeaking or headband-to-earcup assembly issue regardless of how rough or carelessly you typically treat your headphones. The substantial build quality is the best we've seen from Monster and is sure to please hard-working DJs and audio pros needing their work cans to last the test of time and serious daily use in heavy-duty conditions. On the down side, the Beats Pro are a bit heavy with a secure headband clamping force -- which may be just the ticket if dancing behind the decks is your prefered modus operandi when clubbing. The deep-well, full-size (circumaural) Beats Pro earpads completely encircle and envelop the earlobes delivering average-to-good isolation ability and the Beats Pro real leather cushions will typically rest on the outer part of the earlobes on most wearers. Sonically, the bass is pleasingly plump and textural with a mid/low-end accentuation remaining controlled sans roiling bloat. Although perhaps a bit inarticulate in spots, bass response nevertheless remains musical with extension into the lowest octaves being quite good for a 'DJ'-category headphone. Midranges and highs soar cleanly without stridency or overt grain, although we detect a slight roll-off at the uppermost treble frequencies. The Monster Beats Pro are a recommended choice for DJs wanting strong, powerful headphones ready for intensive work behind the boards or for personal audio fiends wanting the best Monster has to offer.
One nice plus for working DJs using the Monster Beats Pro headphones is the ability to employ the detachable hp cable from either the left or right earcup as needed. The provided Monster headphone cord is a straight/coiled mix and both earcups can be easily rotated fully away for one-ear DJ mixing or cueing. The Beats Pro sport good efficiency ratings meaning you'll be able to plug these cans into any club deck or turntable set-up and get intelligible, clear volume from the headphones without needing a dedicated headphone amp.

I have never been a fan of Monster's audio products for as long as I can remember. I have gone through every set of cans they have offered and this was the only one that I actually kept. The strong build quality takes away the old headband cracking problem and by removing the built in amp (referring to the Studios), the sound quality has increased. The ear pads are large and deep but still seem to rest a bit on my ear which after 2+ hours, tends to cause discomfort.
The sound is very punchy with an overall fun tone. The pros, to me, are categorized as a 'dark' sounding headphone where the mids are still well defined. Highs are there but seem to be lacking in some tracks. These are an ideal DJ headphone. I love these for DJing since they can actually reproduce the level of bass that would be coming out of my speakers to the crowd. Running these through a good amp with a good source seem to lighten up the tone a bit by tightening the overall sound.
If you are in the market for a pair of Monster Bears don't bother with any ones but these,

Pros: Excellent build quality, good for DJs
Cons: Not an audiophile or a monitor headphone, POOR CONNECTION!
Two of my friends have owned these, and both developed problems with the connecting wire only providing sound on the channel into which it was plugged, WHILE THE OTHER EARPIECE REMAINED DEAD! While I think that the idea of a detachable cable that can be plugged into either side of the headphone is good in principle, clearly they need to work on making sure the connection is more durable and won't break down over time.
Other than that one major flaw, these are MUCH BETTER than other Beats headphones, and if you absolutely have to have the Beats, I would get these. These are certainly the best Beats headphones for DJing, and if that's what you do and you like the look, you may want to get these. Since there are so many fakes out there, though, get them from an authorized retailer like Headroom to make sure you get the warranty. Otherwise, I quite like the Equation Audio RP-21 or RP22X, the Sennheiser HD 25-1 ii the Beyerdynamic DT 1350 or DJX-1, or the Pioneer HDJ1000, which may or may not sound as good depending on what kind of sonic signature you like, but all of which are substantially cheaper than this set of cans.

Cons: cord too short, ear cups difficult to reinstall
These definitely aren't cheap, but I can already say these Monsters have added an excitement and newly found appreciation to my daily listening enjoyment.
