The Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones are full-size headphones delivering solid bass impact and savvy hipster looks. Large circumaural sealed-back earcups insulate against external noise while delivering respectable musical definition and frequency response for a DJ headphone. These uber cool-looking cans are definitely bass-accentuated -- as to be expected for the category -- and the treble ranges remain clear although perhaps not quite present enough for our demanding ears. The oversize 50mm neodymium dome drivers have an extremely high power handling capacity (3,000mW) so they won't get easily damaged by club equipment pumping overly 'hot' line-level signals or unexpected transient peaks. These 50mm driver arrays are the largest in the entire Sony headphone series and they perform like it. Huge bass slam and powerful audio reproduction will reveal what's happening deep in your mixes. Expect clean bass and punchy sound even at high listening volumes without distortion, making these ideal for any club work or analytical production tasks you want to throw at it. The V700DJ's flash-grey cosmetics seem directly influenced by the underground club world, hip-hop street impressarios, and flash skaters and are sure to visually pump up the jams from behind the decks. The bold brushed metal look has made these cans a favorite of style-concious music fans everywhere.
The MDR-V700DJ are circumaural full-size headphones with sealed-back earcup construction. The swiveling earcup design allows easy single-sided one-ear monitoring on shoulders if needed. Also, the MDR-V700DJ have a nifty position-sensing recovery mechanism that automatically returns the headphones to 'ready-to-wear' status if placed down or removed from the head, a very handy feature for the pro DJ, producer, or recordist. The coiled headphone cable exits from the left earcup (no messy Y-cord tangling!), extends to about 10ft, and is made of durable OFC lizt wire terminated to a gold-plated 1/8" [3.5mm] mini-plug jack. A screw-on 1/4" adapter is handily provided by Sony.
