The Ultimate Ears "universal-fit" super.fi 5 Pro are very punchy and articulate earphones with a rich, even bass response and great silky-sounding mid-range. The presentation of the highs are smooth, well-detailed and nicely extended. Excellent resolution throughout the entire audio range and a clean, even-sounding presentation makes these headphones a superb choice for all music styles and listening tastes. The 5Pro's dual-driver technology enhances the organic transition between the various frequency ranges and provides impressive audiophile-quality sound. The slightly larger size drivers on the super.fi don't insert as deeply into your ear canal as some other brands which may mean a quicker, more comfortable adjustment/break-in period for in-ear earphone newcomers. Conversely, achieving the all-important tight seal for good sound and isolation might take some doing but that is made exponentially easier by the 5 different sets of eartip sizes and materials (single flange & double flange silicone rubber, squishy foam) included with every super.fi accessories kit. A schwingy metallic storage case comes with the super.fi 5Pro which holds a mini-to-mini plug volume attenuator. It attenuates overly loud sources which can be especially useful on a noisy airplane sound system or when plugged into a powerful headphone amplifier or big home stereo. The symmetrically-designed 46-inch "Y" cord can be looped behind the ears to reduce cable noise and avoid cable obstructions and has a cable adjustor to snug the cord to the back of the neck. The cord is terminated in a gold-plated mini 1/8" (3.5mm) plug and comes complete with a full-size 1/4" adapter.
