The YUIN PK2 prove that awesome-sounding earbuds truly do exist! These are the best earbuds we've found for use directly from iPad, iPod and mp3 players with no amp needed thanks to their top-of-the-category sound quality and low-impedance efficiency. Smooth, balanced and musically detailed without harshness or stridency, these tiny 'buds deliver hour upon hour of listening pleasure with a blessedly easy fit. YUIN also manufactures the PK1 earbuds, a slightly better-performing but very high-impedance model designed for headphone amps.

- Low impedance + high efficiency ideal for portable use without amp needed
- Perfect for listeners not wanting deep in-ear canal headphones, but wanting to stay small
- Comes with three different ear cushions, and 1/8" to 1/4" plug adaptor
What's In The Box:
- YUIN storage box
- Travel case
- Full-size 1/4" stereo plug adaptor
- Earpad cushion assortment
Applications:
Ever had your inner ear tickled by deep in-ear headphones? Well, top Chinese audio manufacturer YUIN arrives with the YUI PK2 earbuds to rescue iPod, iPad, mp3 and computer listeners tired of the rather invasive, often uncomfortable in-ear monitor [IEM] fit ergonomics. The YUIN PK2 have very impressive sound quality previously unequaled in the earbud category anywhere near this price and a musical clarity that must be heard to be believed. Thankfully, the easy-to-wear, less fastidious fit typical of earbuds remains but unlike other buds on the market, the PK2 sound quality is completely head & shoulders above most we've heard -- and about equal to many higher priced IEMs. The PK-2 cleanly presented treble range extension and solidly balanced bass response will completely outshine the cheapo buds found in the box with your player device or at the Apple shop. Naturally, don't expect much ambient noise-blocking when compared to deep-fitting in-ears but if great sound quality -- not great isolation -- is your goal, the YUIN PK2 will put a gigantically pleased smile on your great-sounding, comfy head.
The YUIN PK2 come with a selection of thin foam mesh earpads: 2 pairs with the hole-in-the middle style and one pair without the hole. The PK-2 features a 4ft long 'Y' type cable. As with the other YUIN earbuds, the PK-2 comes only in a black matte color. A grey wood-paneled little gift box contains the PK-2 and all assorted goodies like a gold-plated 1/4" plug adaptor and extra mini earpads. The PK-2's measured 20Hz ~ 20,000kHz frequency response matches that of nearly all earphone designs except for upscale high-end earphones. [HeadRoom Tip #176: For best durability, always pull the earbuds out of your ears by grabbing the rounded earpiece itself -- not the cable! -- during earbud removal or insertion.] The YUIN 1-year manufacturer's product warranty is serviced exclusively through the Head-Direct/USA offices located in New York USA.

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Dynamic, Great Soundstage, Warm, Just Enough Detail, Supremely Balanced
Cons: Design Is Ordinary, No Clip To Secure Cable To Clothing
They do sound wonderful plugged directly into a portable unit but the quality of the sound goes up a notch or two when plugged directly into a headphone amp. Or, if you're like me who also uses the PK2's in a computer-based system, a headphone amp/DAC can really bring out the quality of the sound. And it's not always a subtle difference.
Overall, if I have to describe the sound of these uber-buds, I would say they have a tube-like sound that musical and warm but not lushy, romanticized, or sugary. Having said that, I have not heard the PK1's and that may be a purchase for me in the near future but if you don't want to spend a lot of money and want something that will definitely sound better than your included-in-the-package earbuds, the PK2's are a clear choice.
