Sennheiser EH 350

The EH 350 is an excellent sounding headphone that almost seems to fly under the radar given its strong value price-to-audio performance ratio. The EH-350's musical presentation is certainly a bit smoothed-out but remains well-balanced and nicely extended both high & low for such a cost-effective headphone. Expect good musical clarity and dynamics alongside decent detail resolution to the edges of the frequency range. These lightweight cans are also efficiently low-impedance and can be cleanly driven from most portable audio player devices. The typical Sennheiser sonic 'warmth' remains evident in the EH-350; they're an even-toned and laid-back sounding headphone with a timbral presentation that's slightly rolled-off in the uppermost highs -- a soundscape which some listeners will find quite pleasureable. Sennheiser always employs excellent build materials in their products, making these headphones a real consideration for those who will be throwing them into a backpack or carry-on bag for killer sound amidst their travels. Although not required, any dedicated [portable] headphone amp -- like one from our entry-level HeadRoom 'Mobile Line' -- will totally maximize the EH-350's full sonic potential when used with any iPod, PC/laptop computer, or Mp3 player.

The EH 350 is an open-earcup design that basically splits the difference between 'circumaural' and 'supra-aural' earcup sizing. They have circular pleather-material earpads that surround the ears, but remain small enough so that the flat surface of the earpads rest gently on the outer part of the earlobes. The result is a set of headphones that have the light weight and ergonomic sizing of a supra-aural design, but have the secure fit & comfort of a circumaural model.

The EH-350 earcups attach via small, ball-like protrusions that ride in a groove in the headband; the detents in this groove allow you to adjust the fit. This arrangement also allows you to snap the earpieces off the headband for compact storage or transit, although too much disasembly can sometimes cause premature wear on the plasticized contact points of the headband. The headphone cable is a 3-meter long 'Y'-type attached to both earcups. The cord is terminated with a 1/8" (3.5mm) mini-plug jack. A full-size ¼” adapter is handily included in the package. An excellent 2-year manufacturer's product warranty remains standard with all Sennheiser headphones.
