The Phiaton Chord MS-530 is one versatile headphone. The MS-530 with wireless Bluetooth 4.0 will sync up with any Bluetooth device and can be connected to two devices simultaneously. Rely on the MS-530's noise cancelling feature to suppress unwanted sounds on a noisy plane or in the office. This headphone also has built in iPod, iPhone and iPad controls for volume and track adjustment. Oh, and did we mention the sound quality? Really, quite incredible for a Bluetooth headphone, surprising us with tight, punchy and accurate bass and clean detailed highs. Perhaps hardest to achieve is a warm and upfront midrange, and the MS 530 delivers. The MS 530 doesn't just look pretty, the headphone is comfy too, with supreme ergonomics and vented earpads to keep your ears cool and comfortable. Add in a one year warranty for piece of mind; and we can't help but wonder... what's not to love about the Phiaton Chord MS-530?
What We Think:
Bluetooth is a touchy topic among true audio connoisseurs, but the MS530 from Phiaton proves that performance is on an upward turn, and maybe Phiaton knows something about Bluetooth that everyone else has yet to learn. The MS530 is a wonderfully comfortable earpad design that sits softly on the ears providing a nice level of ambient noise isolation. We feel that the best sound quality is achieved from the MS530 when the noise cancelling feature is turned off, but if you find yourself on an airplane, train or bus where a significant amount of low frequency 'rumble' is present, you will enjoy the Active Noise Cancelling feature to provide a nice quiet listening space. HeadRoom testers were truly impressed by the MS530's tonal balance and control which is certainly hard to come by in the Bluetooth world. The bass response is tightly defined without lacking sufficient punch, and it lets the mid range and treble extension sing through uninhibited.
